Bells of Woodditton

The bells at Woodditton have recently been rung again by a visiting team for a service of Renewal of Wedding Vows. As part of the preparation for this the bells have been inspected, serviced and pronounced safe. A tolling rope has also been provided so you may hear our services being heralded each Sunday!

Access to the tower has been made safe and clean and the ringing chamber cleared of debris. We now only need our own ringing team - would you be interested in trying out this skill? Our diocesan Bells Association contact has offered to supervise a taster session at a date to be organised. More formal training can be offered at a later date for those who wish to commit further. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could ring our bells regularly again? (Weddings, completion of the planned restoration work on the tower and the Coronation in 2023 come to mind). We already have seven people who have expressed an interest. Five is the minimum but the more the merrier.

Please contact me if you are interested. Meanwhile enjoy the attached clip with sound recorded at the recent service.
